I was charged with a DUI and possession of cocaine after the police searched my car. I went to court on my first appearance and was going to plead guilty because I didn’t think I had a chance of winning the case. Cory Wilson was in the courtroom and the judge asked if he would talk with me before I pled guilty so I understood the consequences. For free, Cory explained to me what would happen if I pled guilty including the potential for never being able to cross the USA border with a cocaine conviction. I asked the judge to adjourn my date so that I could hire a lawyer – the judge told me that was a great decision to make. I then retained Cory and he told me that after reviewing the disclosure he saw a serious breach of my rights. Cory filed paperwork telling the judge that the police illegally searched my car and illegally took my breath samples. The judge agreed even though the prosecutor said there was nothing wrong with what the police did. The judge then found me not guilty. If I didn’t run into Cory Wilson in court on my first appearance I would have a criminal record. Instead, I have no criminal record because of Cory.
Cory Wilson and his entire team were terrific. Everybody was professional, respectful, understanding and treated me like a person and not just dollar signs.
