A Calgary police officer pleaded guilty to discreditable conduct on Wednesday, after it was found he shared an intimate video and images of a woman and fellow officer with others on the force.

New defence counsel Cory Wilson told Calgary Court of King’s Bench Justice Robert Hall he has taken over the file of former colleague Derek Jugnauth, who was recently appointed a judge of the superior court

Wilson noted while his client wouldn’t be going to jail the cumulative five-year sentence wasn’t too lenient to fall outside the appropriate punishment range.

The 12-month probationary term Justice Harry Van Harten handed Hrehirchuk will not result in him having a criminal record.
